5th Surpac User Meeting in Austria 2009 After the successful 4th Surpac User meeting in the year 2006 mine-it is proud to announce now the 5th Surpac User Meeting in this year. We want to stress with this event the thight relationship between Surpac and its clients and users and we hope that all participants will benifit from this meeting in terms of a successful application of Surpac in the daily working process. |

Goals and who should attend The meeting takes place at March 16th and 17th in Leoben, Austria. The goals of the meeting are:
The meeting should be of interest both for current Surpac users and all persons interested in a application of a mining planning tool in their company in the future. Take the chance to contact Surpac-users and software vendor representatives to get a comprehensive overview on the Surpac product! We proud to announce that again experienced and competent representatives of Surpac-Gemcom will join the meeting (persons will be announced as soon as available). |

Program According to the positive experiences of the last event this meeting will be structured two parts. The first day (Monday, March 16th, 2009) will focus on general information about Surpac. These information should help the user to get an overview on the current capabilities of Surpac Vision and also to get informed about future developments planned by Surpac. Besides that it is quite important to us to give the participants the possibilitiy to put request on inprovements directly to those responsible for the development. Persons thinking about an application of a mining-planning-tool in their company will find here comprehensive information about the capabilities and advantages of Surpac.
The presentations are held primarily by the representatives of Gemcom: The second day (Tuesday, March 17th, 2009) is organized as a workshop, with practical application of Surpac. According to requests of our clients this workshop will focus on aspects of "automation and customization". The corresponding tools integrated in Surpac are capable to significantly improve general prosessing tasks. As these tools are somehow related to "programming" (which hardly belongs to the favorite activities of most Surpac users), typically some resistance against applying this tools can be stated. The goal of the workshop therefore is to demonstrate the participants the potential power of these toosl, but also to guide them through some simple examples in order to overcome the initial scary feelings while exploring this new fields. The workshop starts with some simple examples which can be executed also by the participants ("do it!"). The workshop then gradually moves towards more enhanced examples primarily intended to give the participants an impression of what can be done ("watch it!"). At the end the participants should be able to estimate whether the application of theses tools is appropriate for their own working, and eventually start to deal with this aspect of Surpac more in detail in the future. More detailed information about the program ... In the evening of the first day (Monday, March 16th, 2009) we also organize an informal event ("Surpac evening") - with plenty of time for discussions on Surpac, mine planning and other topics. During the whole meeting both the representatives of Surpac Gemcom as well as the staff of mine-it are available for individual talks and discussions (persons will be announced as soon as available). |

Meeting fees:
The meeting fees include coffee and drinks during breaks, lunch buffet and the evening event (Surpac evening) Participants are kindly asked to register until March 11th 2009 (Fax, Mail). Note for the 2nd day: Surpac users are requested to take their surpac keys and laptop with them. Unfortunatel the organizer cannot provide laptops to the participants. |
